Allianz and Madvac wins Onyx order to sweep Britain's Cleanest City

Allianz Sweepers and Madvac have been awarded a major new contract from Onyx Westminster to supply 55 road and pedestrian sweepers, in a deal worth over US$3.3 million.

The order follows Onyx's successful tender to continue servicing the City of Westminster's road and street cleansing contract for a further seven years, necessitating the replacement of existing machinery.

To cater to the variety of road cleansing requirements in the City of Westminster, Onyx will take delivery of various machines from Allianz's range, including truck mounted 605 Series sweepers, mid-sized 5000 Series machines, Compacts and Compact Washers. The order also includes a significant number of Madvac PS300 pedestrian sweepers.

Onyx Westminster was among the first UK contractors to purchase Madvac pedestrian sweepers back in 2000, and they have formed an integral part of the city's road cleansing fleet ever since. Today, a total of 21 machines are in use in the City of Westminster with ten permanently based on Oxford Street, operating 7 days a week to keep the world-famous shopping center litter-free for the million plus daily visitors.

Last year Allianz and Madvac supplied a full range of sweepers to Onyx Asia when it won the street cleansing contract in Central Singapore, internationally recognized as being among the cleanest cities in the world.
